At ChainSafe, you’ll be part of a 120 person team distributed across 35+ countries that believes in the community’s vital importance and contributes to advancing humanity with open-source and decentralized technology. Joining us is a unique opportunity for a computer scientist to be working with the only company in the world shipping cutting edge open-source innovation across multiple domain of the blockchain industry. We develop 3 protocol clients (Filecoin, Ethereum, Gossamer), a gaming SDK for unity, a multi-chain bridge, run thousands of nodes for Lido Finance, work with the most innovative and best funded Web3 start up in the world.

Who we need

Web3js.org. Your work will impact millions of people that are building on Ethereum.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in discussions with project manager, tests, and software engineers to suggest new or improve Web3js
  • Review, audit and test your teammates’ code, correct bugs reported by the community. https://github.com/web3/web3.js/issues
  • Provide feedback on overall design decisions
  • Understand a protocol specification and develop compliant and optimized code
  • Actively follow latest EIPs

Required skills and experience

  • You’ve been part of tech companies and ship software through a complete software development lifecycle
  • 5+ years of TypeScript programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms
  • Excellent debugging skills, you can demonstrate how to run a good code review
  • Experience in working and contributing to open source projects
  • Knowledge of best practices, patterns, and understanding of key principles of developing software

Nice to have

  • Experience with distributed systems, peer-to-peer systems, network programming, or cryptography
  • Experience maintaining a large mono repo codebase with many components and keeping it well-designed, future-proofed, and modular
  • Can construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, cypress )
  • Experience with different web bundlers (webpack, esbuild, browserify)
  • Experience with Ethereum/EVM-compatible blockchain
  • Knowledge and application of semver versioning
