The Role

We need a Senior Engineer who has built and shipped perpetual trading systems that handled real volume. You’ll be in charge of our perpetuals infrastructure, integrate with our Smart Shielded Pools, and ensure we deliver near-CEX execution quality on-chain.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• 5+ years production Rust and Solidity experience
• Built and deployed a perpetuals trading system that processed >$100M volume or >10k daily active traders
• Deep DeFi primitives knowledge: AMMs, oracles, liquidation engines, margin systems, funding rates
• Can point to mainnet contracts you’ve written that are still running
• Experience with high-frequency price feeds and MEV-resistant architecture

• Perpetuals engine architecture
• Oracle integration and price feed aggregation
• Liquidation mechanisms and risk parameters
• Gas optimization to compete with CEX fees
• Integration with our existing Smart Shielded Pools
• Security review preparation and audit remediation

Reality Check

• This is a startup. Small team. You’ll write code, not manage people.
• We ship fast and fix forward. Perfect is the enemy of launched.
• You’ll be engineer #9. If you need structure or process, this isn’t for you.

Why This Matters

We’re building capital-protected trading on Base. LPs get 25-40% APR in USDC. Traders get CEX-quality execution. This only works if our perpetuals infrastructure is bulletproof. Your code will handle millions in TVL within 6 months of launch.
