Job Summary
We are a leading barbecue accessory manufacturer supplying all major big-box retailers across North America, alongside a rapidly growing private-label business for grocery and hardware stores. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Packaging Graphic & Artwork Designer that is a self-starter that can take on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of packaging designs, sell sheets, signage, planograms, catalogue, and power point presentation layouts.
You will use advanced AI-assisted design workflows to accelerate creative concepts and utilize our internal project management ecosystem to keep high-volume private label rollouts on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Asset Creation: Design striking, high-impact retail packaging artwork, including full-box graphics, wrap cards, hangtags, header cards, PDQ’s, and floor display.
AI-Enhanced Workflows: Leverage Photoshop AI features (such as Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and advanced object selection) to efficiently manipulate lifestyle imagery, clean up product photography, and composite barbecue accessories into realistic retail settings.
Project Tracking & Operations: Maintain real-time project updates within Monday.com, ensuring all creative milestones, asset requests, and multi-SKU private label deadlines are accurately tracked and visible to stakeholders.
And, provide direction to Overseas Team on packaging projects.
Collaborative Proofing: Manage the feedback and approval pipeline using Ziflow. Upload design iterations, review multi-department markups, implement vendor feedback, and secure final approvals for production-ready artwork.
Private-Label Execution: Adapt core design systems to match the strict visual brand guidelines of various grocery, hardware and major retailers
Die-line Application: Seamlessly lay out complex graphics, typography, photography, and text onto pre-existing 2D structural die-lines provided by our China team.
Retail Compliance & Prep: Prepare pixel-perfect, press-ready files for global printing partners. Ensure flawless placement of mandatory elements including UPC barcodes, warning labels, multilingual copy, and multi-color setups (CMYK + Pantones).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated professional graphic design experience, with a heavy portfolio focus on Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), hardgoods, or retail packaging.
Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator (for vector artwork/dieline layout) and Adobe Photoshop (with proven expertise utilizing Photoshop AI tools for creative efficiency).
Workflow Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience working within Monday.com for task tracking and Ziflow (or closely equivalent digital proofing software) for managing collaborative asset approvals.
Typography & Hierarchy: A masterful eye for typography and visual hierarchy, ensuring key product features and barbecue tool selling points are instantly scannable on crowded retail shelves.
Print Production Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial printing processes (flexography, litho-lamination, digital prepress) and how color behaves on different cardboard substrates (kraft vs. white corrugated).
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional proofing skills to manage dense packaging copy, legal requirements, and multi-language translations without errors.
