Communications / Multidisciplinary Designer

CornerPxl, a Central Jersey-based strategic communications design agency, is growing its team and seeking a seasoned, highly motivated Communications / Multidisciplinary Designer.

We are looking for someone with a mature design eye, a sharp creative mind, and the ability to think critically about how design supports business, brand, and communication goals. This role is ideal for a designer who is both conceptually strong and executionally reliable — someone who listens deeply, thinks strategically, works collaboratively, and brings a proactive, go-getter mindset to every assignment.

Our work spans fully integrated communications services for a diverse range of clients across the nation. The right candidate will be comfortable moving between brand, print, digital, web, marketing, presentation, and campaign-related design needs while maintaining a high standard of clarity, polish, and purpose.

Position Title

Communications / Multidisciplinary Designer

Experience & Culture Fit

The ideal candidate will bring both strong professional capabilities and clear alignment with CornerPxl’s collaborative, thoughtful, high-integrity culture.

Requirements and expectations include:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications design, graphic design, visual communication, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of design or marketing agency experience

  • High integrity, transparency, and professional accountability

  • A team-first mindset, with a genuine desire to support teammates’ success as much as your own

  • Strong, consistent communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a small, creative, tech-savvy team

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and high expectations

  • Appreciation for in-person collaboration, relationship building, and hands-on creative problem-solving

  • Mature judgment, strong follow-through, and the ability to take ownership of work from concept through completion

Professional Skill Set

The right candidate should have a strong foundation in communication design and the ability to translate strategy, messaging, and client goals into clear, compelling visual solutions.

Key skills and strengths include:

  • Strong grasp of core communication design principles, especially typography, hierarchy, composition, and visual storytelling

  • Ability to listen deeply, interpret needs accurately, and develop design concepts that communicate with purpose

  • Strong conceptual thinking paired with careful execution and attention to detail

  • Ability to work across multiple formats, including brand systems, marketing collateral, digital assets, presentations, web-related design, and integrated campaign materials

  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

  • Working knowledge of commonly used collaborative and design tools such as Figma, Canva, Miro, and related platforms

  • Solid understanding of web design best practices and evolving digital standards

  • Practical proficiency with AI tools, including the ability to use them responsibly to support the designer’s process through research, organization, exploration, refinement, production support, and creative development — not as a replacement for original thinking, strategic concepting, strong design judgment, or hands-on execution

  • Curiosity and adaptability around emerging technologies, with discernment about when and how they strengthen the creative process

  • Strong organizational skills, logical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple assignments responsibly

  • Self-starter mentality with the confidence to make smart decisions, ask the right questions, and move work forward without requiring micromanagement

A strong plus:

  • Ability to bridge creative design with front-end production, including working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, or similar front-end frameworks at a production-support level

Pilot Period

This position requires a 6–12 month pilot period with the intent to transition into a full-time role based on performance, culture alignment, and mutual fit.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience, capabilities, and overall skill set.

Benefits include:

  • Paid vacation / PTO

  • Health insurance

  • Full 401(k) match

  • Performance- and merit-based bonus opportunities

Work Environment

This is an in-office position.
