Role Description
As a Product Designer, you will be one of our first design hires, playing a crucial role in shaping the user experience and aesthetic of our product. You’ll collaborate closely with the founders and engineering team to transform our vision into a user-friendly, impactful product focused on the electrification of buildings. We're looking for someone to work in person from our San Francisco or New York offices.
Product Vision & Strategy: Work alongside the founders to define and articulate the design vision and strategy for our core product.
User-Centered Design: Lead user research initiatives to deeply understand our users’ needs and pain points, specifically in the context of residential electrification services.
Design Execution: Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces and experiences across our platform, incorporating AR/VR elements.
Prototyping & Testing: Create prototypes to quickly iterate on design concepts and validate them through user testing.
Collaboration: Partner with engineering to ensure the feasibility of designs and to foster a seamless transition from design to development.
Design System: Establish and maintain a design system to ensure consistency across the product.
Mentorship & Culture: Cultivate a design-centric culture and mentor future design hires as the company grows.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 3-7 years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise, especially in handling complex data and technical forms.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Marvel.
UX/UI Expertise: Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design.
User Research: Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering actionable insights.
Startup Mindset: Experience working in a startup environment is a plus.
Passion for Sustainability: Demonstrable commitment to environmental sustainability and belief in our mission.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
