The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer at Inscribe you’ll apply your technical knowledge to solve real customer problems. You’ll join the Fraud team working on our core fraud detection logic and building new technical solutions to uncover fraud. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, machine learning experts and other engineers. You will be responsible for creating new methods of detecting fraud and tuning existing detectors to stay one step ahead of the fraudsters. You’ll build new features for both our customer-facing web application(s) and our API. You’ll get involved in all aspects of the product development lifecycle - ideation, design, deployment, support and product evolution/iteration.

We have flexible office space available in Dublin and have regular in-person events. Our Product and Engineering team members live +/- 2hrs from Dublin time.

Responsibilities

• Build new Fraud features exposed through our API and web app

• Collaborate with the Fraud product team

• Write well-designed, documented, and testable code

• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems

• Deploy features and updates to production

• Listen to the needs of our industry leading fintech customers

• Integrate customer feedback into implementations

• Suggest and plan features

• Tackle security implications during the design and implementation

About You

• Have a strong sense of product design, customer empathy and intuition about customer needs

• Have 4+ years experience as a Software Engineer

• Value a high degree of autonomy and accountability

• Are thoughtful about code quality and software architecture

• Are familiar with Python and Django or similar programming languages and frameworks

• Are familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript MVC frameworks (such as VueJS)

• Have experience across the testing pyramid

Nice to Have

• Are familiar with Machine Learning and how to expose it as a product

• Have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant field

• Knowledge of the Fintech industry especially risk teams

• A passion for detecting fraud
