Tajir is often the only app our customers use besides WhatsApp. In fact, our customers sometimes purchase a smartphone just to use Tajir!
This presents an interesting challenge: how do we design a complex user experience for novice smartphone users?
As a designer, you will:
Understand our customers. Too many product decisions in our industry are made in cushy offices, aloof from real users. Instead, you will speak with our customers regularly and understand their needs perhaps better than they know themselves.
Keep it simple. Simple, straightforward designs win over Dribble-worthy, cutesy designs.
Have an extreme, maniacal attention to detail. Either we catch design flaws, or our users do (and hate us for it). What happens if a screen loads too slowly? Or if the user is offline? The biggest shortcoming with local designers is a lack of attention to detail. Sweat the details!
