Founding Backend Lead Engineer

Concourse is building AI agents for corporate finance teams. Concourse works alongside finances teams to assist in day-to-day operations by taking on the most manual and time consuming work. Core to the platform is an AI analyst tailor-built for finance teams that is available at any hour of the day, accessible via natural language, and built with full connectivity to a company’s existing financial systems. It enables team members to more effectively retrieve and analyze data, generate charts and reports, and answer ad-hoc questions.

The Role

We’re actively hiring for a Founding backend lead engineer to lead our engineering efforts for our AI products including the Concourse AI Analyst. We’re looking for someone who is extremely passionate about AI and its potential to fundamentally change the way work is done across the enterprise. The right candidate will have extensive experience in developing & maintaining integrations & data models that our AI can query & return. We're building in uncharted waters with new technologies, many unknowns, and a massive ambition – we’re looking for someone who is excited about the prospect of joining a high powered team and tackling the problem space head on. The right candidate will have a combination of high ownership mentality, infectious energy, and technical expertise to move the company and engineering organization forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend integrations to key finance data sources (ERPs, banks, CRMs, HRIS, AP/AR platforms, internal databases). Experience integrating with leading platforms / modern finance tech stack a plus (ex: NetSuite, Xero, Quickbooks, SAP, Snowflake, Redshift, Salesforce, Hubspot, Stripe, etc..)
• Create, structure, and maintain data models to ensure data accuracy & optimal schema structure of customer data. Keen understanding of ETLs & databases to ensure data is easily readable & manipulated by our AI features & front-end architecture
• Infrastructure & dev ops responsibilities to ensure low product latency & optimal infrastructure to scale operations intelligently
• Embrace and own large parts of the product and engineering responsibilities. Own the projects and outcomes and have a significant ownership mentality to every project you work on to drive meaningful outcomes
• Work directly with the founders and founding engineers and play a key role in building out the team and company culture

About You

Experience & passion building backend integrations & data models. Our clients have data siloed into many different systems & platforms. One of our core value drivers is the ability to integrate & view all of these data sources in one-place as well as the ability to query and ask questions of the connected data. You have experience building 3rd party integrations, reading / digesting API docs, and can deploy these with speed. You also have keen understanding of data model structure & databases to host this connected data and make it ready for production. In this role you will build the foundation for what clients will be able to see and how they interact with it. The more integrations you’ve built & infrastructure you’ve scaled in the past the better.
