Job description

The Product Designer is a key member of the Engenious Design team; an insightful and empathetic observer of users and their needs, translating these insights into visual design concepts that delight.

The Product Designer will collaborate with our Industrial Design team, Product Architects, Product Managers, Human Factors Researchers and Clients to create systems that make the world a better place. Our design work includes embedded systems with multi-language GUI’s plus mobile app development (iOS/Android). We create user interfaces for systems as simple as an ear thermometer or as complex as a life support ventilator.

This person is not afraid to go see how users interact with the systems we are designing, observing clinical practice in person, conducting interviews, and generally partnering with clinicians to understand their viewpoints. The designer should be comfortable transitioning seamlessly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. They are equally comfortable talking to clients, project managers, and engineering partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Apply research insights to understand user needs and resulting design considerations, then translating these insights into intuitive designs.

- Create rapid prototypes to validate design concepts with stakeholders and customers.
- Present concepts verbally and visually with the ability to explain design rationale to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Interact with a world class team of engineers, technicians, designers, and others.
