Role Overview

Workpay seeks to recruit a VP of partnership & expansion with a proven ability to manage a strategic partner program. The role holder will find, manage, and expand critical partnerships by driving more brand presence, leads, and new customers. You will be responsible for running a team to develop our existing partnerships and implement processes and technology that improves how we find, onboard, and manage strategic relationships to convert demand into revenue. You will report to the CRO and work closely with the executive leadership to meet your objectives.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify new types of strategic partners and find and onboard these partners.
  • Contributes to business development strategies, including helping to establish new partnerships to realize our partnering and revenue goals.
  • Conduct market and product research to discover new avenues to leverage
  • Cultivates and strengthens institutional relationships, position for and pursue promising opportunities, negotiate favourable terms and partnerships, resolve operational issues, and advance common ground.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Legal, serving as an advocate for your partners while balancing Workpay‚Äôs goals
  • Own the numbers on partner-sourced and influenced revenue, partner success, and customer retention
  • Continually identify ways to improve results and partner engagement.
  • Evaluate partner contracts, identify areas for improvement and potential risks, and communicates effectively to legal and leadership

Required Experience

  • 5+ in partnerships & expansion, with a preference for SaaS business development experience.
  • Proven record of overseeing a strategic partner team at a high-growth company and successfully improving sourced and influenced revenue and partner engagement.
  • Strategic thinker who excels at relationship building and can inspire internal and external stakeholders toward common goals. vCapable of effectively communicating value propositions to all stakeholders in a way that gets them excited to invest more
  • Understanding of relevant technical concepts and ability to communicate with technical stakeholders
  • Data-driven with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced organization and constantly identify the highest-value partners and activities
