The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Principal Product Designer to lead our design efforts across our portfolio. In this high-impact role, you'll:

- Drive design strategy for AI-powered features and products
- Lead user research initiatives and implement design thinking methodologies
- Influence product vision and strategy at the executive level
- Develop and grow our design team, fostering a culture of innovation
- Contribute to the development of AI-assisted shopping experiences

You'll report directly to the CEO (acting as Chief Product Officer) and play a key role in strategic design initiatives.

What You'll Do

- Lead product design strategy across all Demand.io products
- Conduct in-depth user research to inform product development and design decisions
- Develop innovative design solutions for AI-driven, community-powered products
- Create and implement design systems to ensure consistency across products
- Collaborate with AI and machine learning teams to translate capabilities into intuitive user interfaces
- Drive data-informed design decisions through qualitative and quantitative studies
- Mentor junior designers and promote user-centered design across the organization
- Represent Demand.io's design practice at industry conferences

A Day in the Life

As a Principal Product Designer at Demand.io, you might:

- Analyze user research data to inform the design of new AI features in SimplyCodes
- Lead a design sprint for a new feature in Product.ai
- Review and provide feedback on design work from your team
- Present new design concepts to the executive team, influencing product strategy
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure feasibility of proposed designs

About You

We're open to exceptional candidates at various levels - title and compensation will be commensurate with experience and impact.

Must-Haves:

- 10+ years of experience in product design, preferably in B2C tech or e-commerce
- Strong background in user research methodologies and design thinking
- Experience designing AI-powered products or features
- Proven track record in developing effective design systems and strategies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills

Nice-to-Haves:

- Experience leading community engagement or user testing programs
- Expertise in designing conversational AI or chatbot interfaces
- Background in game design or designing products with gamification elements
- Publications or speaking engagements in product design, particularly related to AI or e-commerce
- Advanced degree in Design, HCI, or related field

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

At Demand.io, we align individual success with company performance:

- Competitive base salary: $180,000 - $250,000 DOE
- Equity: 0.5% - 1.0% initial grant in a $100M+ valuation company

- Substantial cash bonuses tied to company performance
- Potential to earn multiples of base salary through monthly profit-sharing

The Partners Program provides increasing rewards as Demand.io grows. Eligibility typically begins after 6 months, with increasing bonus percentages as you advance through Partner levels.
