Can you take an animation from concept to completion? Talk passionately to colleagues and clients (and anyone who will listen) about your work? Do you like easing speed ramps and meticulously animating vector points? Do you spend more time organizing precomps than you do on your taxes? If so, read on.

COLOR is a Creative Agency dedicated to creating, destroying, rising from the ashes, destroying, and then creating again.

We’re in need of a talented, honest, thoughtful Sr. Motion Designer to help us accomplish that mission in-house with strong preference for folks located in the following U.S. states: WA, CA, CO, MN, NJ, TN, TX.

Requirements

  • No ego and an awesome portfolio (don’t make me click twice to find your demo...)

  • Senior-level fluency in After Effects and Illustrator – you gotta have SKILLS

  • A record of experience, preferably in an agency setting, but some combo of brand side and agency is A-OK

  • Knowledge and respect for brand guidelines

  • Ability to prepare and organize files to pass off to another animator (labeling and color-coding layers)

  • Ability to translate feedback from non-motion designers and provide alternate solutions and compromises

  • Familiarity with character animation (path animation, DuIK, puppet tool) nice to have

  • Knowing when to create something by hand vs finding the right plugin

  • Effective communication skills within a diverse organization

  • Strong time management and ability to maintain motivation with limited oversight

  • Ability to keep focus between projects under tight deadlines

What You'll Do

  • Styleframe, storyboard, design, and animate for motion-based projects

  • Light oversight on projects: Direct and QC motion for mid-level motion designers

  • Work within a set style: Create designs from existing assets

  • Establish new styles: Propose design and motion languages when appropriate

  • Sketch and modify storyboards

  • Prep assets from Illustrator to After Effects in a variety of styles as well as provide design recommendations

  • Animate in After Effects

  • Export animation sequences and MoGraph Templates optimized for an editor

  • Work with producers, creative director, art director, and project creative leads

  • Occasionally present materials to client alongside Creative and Art Directors

  • Take initiative to propose creative solutions and alternatives when appropriate
