Job description

Position Summary: Utilize design expertise to translate engineering ideas into product design across the spectrum of clubs for the TaylorMade brand creatively collaborating with the Design, Product Creation and Engineering teams. Supports and coordinates efficient implementation and production execution of assignments. Works to concept and deliver finished production files from documented creative working briefs.




Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

- Designs 3D and 2D product cosmetics. This includes hand sketches, illustrations, technical drawings, color concepts and colored sketches, mood/inspiration boards, graphic solutions for the TaylorMade products

- Highly Productive in generating visual ideas through sketches and renderings.

- Strong communication skills. Designers must have the ability to clearly communicate design intent through written, drawn, and verbal direction. Must have the ability to effectively present design ideas and concepts to a large group.

- High personal standard for detail and craftsmanship

- Diverse visual vocabulary. The ability to generate designs from clean and sophisticated too disruptive trend setting.

- Ensures an efficient and organized work process.




Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Excellent knowledge of standard design software applications (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

- Ability to resolve complex 3D shapes.

- Fundamental abilities in CAD design ( PRO E) preferred Blender or Rhino is a plus.

- Give and take. The ability to give and receive opinions on design productively.

- Discover and develop. Propose and develop new paints/materials to keep products cosmetically ahead of the market competition.

- Collaborate. Drawing upon and expanding on ideas from other designers. Working with both Engineers and Product Creation category leads to execute successful products.

- Problem Solve. Compromising with performance and cost requirements without losing strong thematic design elements.

- Knowledge of functional golf equipment, products design trends, specifically sporting goods industry trends. Passion for sports and/or golf preferred.

- Ability to learn and grow in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, team environment.




Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Sports Performance Design or similar field required

- 3-5 years of experience in Industrial/3-D design with consumer products




Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

- Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.

- Ability to work extended hours as necessary.

- Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.

- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.




TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $77,000 – $82.000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
