Bunkerhill Health is a Sequoia-backed company whose goals are to facilitate and streamline the AI development efforts of academic researchers and to increase the adoption of AI in healthcare in order to help doctors catch deadly diseases earlier.

We have built a consortium of research institutions (Stanford, Johns Hopkins, UCSF, Harvard, etc.) whose researchers develop and validate AI algorithms seamlessly under our legal umbrella (weeks of setup time for a new project when using the Bunkerhill consortium, versus a year or more for projects outside the consortium). Bunkerhill then manages the FDA clearance and commercial sales process for the algorithms that these institutions develop and validate with us.

We’ve signed commercial contracts and deployed algorithms with some of the world’s leading health systems — UCSF, Mayo Clinic, Georgetown/MedStar, and several others. These algorithms help doctors identify patients earlier than has otherwise been possible, leading to better treatment outcomes (early clinical screening for heart disease, pancreatic cancer, etc.).

We’re backed by world-class investors, including Sequoia, Max Levchin (co-founder of PayPal and Affirm), and Y Combinator.

We’re looking for a strong candidate who can lead Business Development efforts to help grow Bunkerhill into the leading research consortium for healthcare AI. This individual will fully immerse themselves in the world of healthcare AI and will build relationships with physicians, researchers, and senior leadership at premier academic medical institutions around the world. This immediate mission is twofold: 1) grow the number of active institutions and researchers in Bunkerhill consortium, and 2) maximize quantity and quality of algorithm development projects conducted by researchers through the Bunkerhill consortium.

Offer will include base salary and equity.


  • Define and execute strategy for identifying and adding new academic medical centers, health systems, and other institutions to the Bunkerhill consortium
  • Build Bunkerhill’s credibility and visibility in the academic healthcare research community through attending conferences, presenting to special interest groups, and networking with researchers
  • Develop and apply frameworks for assessing clinical and commercial value of healthcare AI algorithms
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and researchers in and outside of the Bunkerhill consortium
  • Generate excitement in the research community around launching healthcare AI development projects through the Bunkerhill consortium
  • Establish initiatives to empower academic researchers with the knowledge and insights necessary to translate their research AI into clinical devices with significant patient impact and commercial value
  • Design, track, and manage metrics to provide visibility into the health of the consortium and the algorithm development pipeline

Skills and qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of professional experience in relevant business development, management consulting, and/or healthcare-related roles
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant field
  • (Strongly preferred) Background in healthcare
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategy and executing projects to drive quantifiable financial results in a corporate environment
  • Comfort and demonstrated experience with preparing and delivering presentations in professional environments
  • (Bonus) Experience with academic research, startups, and/or AI
