At Domu.ai, we're building the agentic infrastructure for the future of the world's largest financial institutions. AI agents that handle millions of live interactions every day for Fortune 500 banks and insurers, end-to-end. Interactions are 3x-ing monthly. We're hitting problems most startups never encounter: real-time voice AI at scale, legacy banking infrastructure, enterprise telephony, and building regulatory frameworks in the US.
The Role
As the Engineering Manager, you'll:
- Set KPIs, 1-1s, performance reviews, and clear metrics for the entire engineering team. Run the team day to day with the CTO. 1:1s, growth, performance, and the weekly cadence.
- Partner on technical direction. Lead the calls in your scope. Push back on the ones that aren't.
- Drive our compliance programs forward. SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS, and enterprise security questionnaires.
- Co-own incident response and on-call. Bring the rigor to a regulated, real-time product demands.
- We do not want only a manager; we want an excellent individual contributor who ships code across tooling, dashboards, capacity models, and on-call ergonomics.
- We expect you to recruit and bring top talent.
How We Work
- We enjoy hard problems: We ship things that work in production for customers who cannot tolerate any downtime.
- We are a written-culture company: We value clear thinking and clear writing as the foundation of our collaboration.
- Rigor and accountability: We co-own incident response and bring the level of discipline required for a real-time, regulated product.
What You Bring
- You've led engineering teams through early hypergrowth and have a clear sense of stories about what worked and what didn't.
- You've scaled a team meaningfully. Took 5 to 15, or 10 to 25, and can talk to us about how you did it.
- You earn the team's respect by being an excellent IC. You can hold your own in systems discussions with senior engineers.
- You've run or been close to a compliance program. SOC 2, PCI, ISO 27001, or similar.
- You have helped people to develop their careers. You can name specific people you've grown. Not "I built a great team." A specific person, what they were like before, what they were like after, what you actually did.
- You write and think clearly. We're a written-culture company.
- You've been through the early stages of a startup before. You've felt the chaos and the pace and you want it again.
What We Offer
- Meaningful equity: Own a piece of a company that is compounding rapidly.
- Competitive cash compensation: Pay that reflects the high bar we set for this role.
- High-impact environment: A small, elite team where you will be proud of the people you lead.
- Real traction. Post $XXM in revenue, Fortune 500 customers, 12x YoY growth last year.
- AI-first company with $1M+ revenue per employee.
- Early enough to shape the product, the team, and the culture, and become a key leader in the company. You will work hand in hand with the founders.
