The Fincrime Operations team

The Operations team at Griffin is the mindful engine room, driving our success. We strive to bring joy to our customers, both internal and external, through systems that just work.

We place significant emphasis on compassion, ownership and curiosity. You will be empowered to make meaningful decisions and supported to make sure we collectively get those decisions right.

As one of the first members of the fincrime operations team, you’ll be shaping and delivering exceptional fincrime systems and controls. You'll be helping us build and run a truly resilient bank that centres around bringing value to our customers. Who are you

The ideal candidate for this job will have most of the following:

  • Strong knowledge of AML, CTF and fraud regulations, as well as industry best practice in the design and operation of systems and controls for financial crime prevention.

  • Experience working within financial services in the UK, ideally within an EMI/PI, a fintech and/or a challenger bank.

  • Great stakeholder management to work closely with all other parts of the business, from both a coaching and product development perspective. You should have worked closely with engineering and product teams before.

  • A first principles and growth mindset: you're comfortable being problem rather than solution led, and diving deep into source regulation, analysing it, and applying it.

  • Comfort with solo execution - we’re a small team so you'll need to be happy rolling up your sleeves.

We’re hybrid-remote, and most of your colleagues will not share an office with you on a day-to-day basis. This means you should also have:

  • A high degree of comfort adopting new software tools for document drafting, collaboration and communication.

  • A love of writing - we have a major amount of written documentation that you will be contributing to, and we place a high degree of importance on clarity and readability (you can find out more here about how we write ).

Nice to haves

We’d be thrilled if you also have experience in:

  • Developing and ongoing enhancement of financial crime systems and controls.

  • Experience with user acceptance testing to ensure financial crime requirements are embedded in financial crime systems and controls before go-live.

  • Taking operational insights from business as usual activity and translating them into financial crime improvements to systems and controls.

  • BaaS or SaaS experience would be a bonus!

What will you be doing here?

As a Fincrime Associate at Griffin, you will...

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams as a subject-matter-expert to help design and build systems and controls to support our capabilities for our customers and ensure that financial crime prevention considerations are appropriately incorporated from the outset.

  • Keep up to date with emerging regulatory changes in so far as they relate to financial crime prevention, and ensure that our technology systems and products stay in compliance with these.

  • Ensuring that the financial crime operations team is always audit ready

  • Implementing and testing (UAT) of financial crime requirements in new releases of Griffin’s fincrime products

  • Work closely with the Product team to add descoped work to the product road map and assist in defining and prioritising new controls

  • Supporting third party vendor management along side our product managers for the purpose of service delivery, change management and service improvements.
