About the role:

You’ll be leading Locale's engineering - both managing and hiring. You'll also be jumping in to build/solve problems yourself (player-coach mentality).

You'll work with the founders to create anything ranging from packing (fulfillment) apps, entire inventory management systems to front-end work with our e-commerce site. As a member of a small, scrappy team, we move fast to constantly roll out new features, and improve the architecture that we’ll build on for years to come. ‍

Who you are:

You love trying new foods and are passionate about our product and supporting small businesses

You've been a mentor to other engineers and are looking to level up to lead and build/manage an engineering team yourself

You're a great communicator and help bridge the gap between the engineering team and the rest of the company

You like writing and shipping code to production yourself - not just managing others who do this

You have strong back-end development experience (Python, Java, C++)

Front-end experience is nice to have but not required

You've worked at an e-commerce company (ideally in a similar space with both offline & online components ie Doordash/Uber)

You value transparency, positivity, and collaboration. You're not afraid to try new things and get outside of your comfort zone

Your responsibilities:

Solve complex engineering problems yourself and help your team do the same. You'd be managing ~3 engineers to start

You'll create an amazing engineering culture that encourages creativity and rapid development

Create the technical roadmap, solidify MVP, identify best tools and practices

Contribute to company strategy and technical vision

Own everything that you ship. Make sure to test it thoroughly yourself and with your users to make sure it works and they love it

Help scale us to millions of orders, with thousands of small business partners across the US ‍
