Job description

Grammarly is excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members work primarily remotely in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, or Poland. Certain roles have specific location requirements to facilitate collaboration at a particular Grammarly hub.

All roles have an in-person component: Conditions permitting, teams meet 2–4 weeks every quarter at one of Grammarly’s hubs in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a workspace in Kraków. This flexible approach gives team members the best of both worlds: plenty of focus time along with in-person collaboration that fosters trust and unlocks creativity.

Grammarly team members in this role must be based in the United States or Canada, and they must be able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub(s) where the team is based.

The opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Brand Designer to serve an integral role in shaping the vision for our brand and how we communicate the value of our product at a global scale. In partnership with other creatives (visual, writing, operations, and producers), marketers, product designers, product managers, researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders across the company, this designer will elevate the craft of brand creative, identity, and systems that scale how our brand is expressed and experienced. This role sits on the Creative Team, part of the Global Marketing and Creative organization.

Your impact
As a Brand Designer at Grammarly, you’ll build on an existing body of work and help our team evolve the Creative discipline and practice. This role requires close partnerships with go-to-market partners and teams focused on everything across demand generation, field events, organic acquisition, and lifecycle marketing. You’ll continue to raise the bar for creative excellence and craft as you shape and build awareness for Grammarly and its product benefits.

• Within your first 30 days, you’ll immerse yourself in Grammarly’s brand, marketing motions, and product strategy while building relationships with your cross-functional teammates.
• By month three, you’ll be working confidently within the creative process, synthesizing research data into insights and working closely with internal stakeholders to develop creative across numerous brand touchpoints and marketing efforts for Grammarly’s professional and enterprise customers. Concepting, prototyping, testing, and designing solutions to visual communication challenges at scale are specific skills you’ll leverage heavily by this time.
• By month six, you will have established a dynamic yet consistent visual and strategic approach for your areas of responsibility. Initially, you will focus on supporting and elevating Revenue Marketing’s programs (account-based marketing, retaining and expanding experience, and field marketing).
• By year one, you are an established critical and trusted partner across different functions who supports multiple high-visibility projects from concept to delivery.

We’re looking for someone who
• Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
• Is inspired by our MOVE principles, which are the blueprint for how things get done at Grammarly: move fast and learn faster, obsess about creating customer value, value impact over activity, and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
• Can collaborate in person up to 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub where the team is based.
• Has experience developing and working with brand identity and design systems, using them to drive visual storytelling across multiple surfaces, from digital to print to environments.
• Has a portfolio of brand and systems work demonstrating a principled approach to design, user advocacy, achieving business impact, and excellent visual design skills that bridge brand, marketing, and product.
• Has an understanding of systems-oriented work and can develop clear solutions when faced with ambiguous or incomplete information.
• Can articulate the reasoning behind their visual design choices and influence within a Marketing organization.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to share their ideas effectively, and the conviction to advocate for their disciplinary expertise.
• Gives and receives feedback generously and productively to improve our collective work.
• Leans into a big-picture mindset that considers the entire customer journey.
• Manages multiple projects with variable scopes and deadlines, from needs assessment to delivery.
• Is passionate in creating helpful and human experiences built on AI technology.

Note: Please include an accessible link to your portfolio in your resume to be considered for this role.
