About the role Apheris is pioneering a new way to securely collaborate on data and AI across organizational and geographical boundaries. To ensure our customers are wildly successful with the Apheris federated ML & analytics platform, we’re looking for a Customer Facing Solutions Engineer to work with and empower our technical customers and users as they begin their data collaboration journey with us - both in the pre-sales phase and through onboarding, deployment and scale out. With your strong AI engineering and cloud platform expertise coupled with a genuine interest in solving customer problems and driving business value, you’ll work closely with our customers’ data science and ML teams to understand their goals and technical requirements, deliver tailored product demos, and design and execute successful proof of values. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the Apheris platform in order to architect customer solutions and co-build data pipelines with them to prove early success with the Apheris platform. You’ll be a key part of our customer-facing team, owning the ‘technical win’ in new Sales opportunities as well as the onboarding and successful deployment of the customer post-sale.  You’ll work closely with our Sales team, as well as our CEO Robin, our CTO Michael, and our VP Revenue, helping to shape our pre- and post-sales functions as we grow. Finally, spending a high proportion of your time with customers means you’ll play an important role as a customer advocate, sharing feedback with our Product team as we develop our future product roadmap. Apheris is an early stage, growing company and you’ll have the opportunity to meaningfully impact the decisions we make across Marketing, Sales and Product Management as we test and expand into new markets and customer segments. • For our customers, you will be our key Apheris Platform expert on aspects of federated ML & analytics, ML lifecycle and architecture design
• Work closely with Sales and Commercial Leads to develop ‘technical win’ strategies and drive new business for Apheris
• Lead our customers through evaluation and adoption of Apheris including architecture and solution design, hands-on data science & ML programming and integration with the wider cloud ecosystem
• Design, build and deliver demos of the Apheris Platform tailored to our customer’s needs
• Enable our customers to solve complex data science problems using Apheris - including problem framing, data preparation, model building, model deployment, model management, and output consumption
• Consolidate customers’ requirements and communicate them to product management and R&D teams
• Engage with the technical community by leading workshops, seminars and meet-ups

You should apply if

• You have a degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Bioinformatics or Engineering
• You have a proven track-record of doing pre-sales for enterprise-scale Data, AI and ML solutions
• You have hands-on experience including coding skills in typical data science and ML libraries (pandas, Scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, …) and tools to build, deploy and operationalize ML applications
• You have outstanding technical project management, business communication skills and a customer-centric mindset - the ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade customers to take action is essential
• You have a deep understanding of the ML and ML tooling /data infrastructure landscape – including latest developments
• You are experienced in working with Data Science and Machine Learning enterprise platforms (e.g., DataRobot, Databricks, Domino Labs) and can design/architect technical solutions for specific customer problems
• You know how to work with architecture visualisation and visual collaboration tools like Lucid and/or Miro

Bonus points if

• Experience with secure data sharing approaches or foundation models (e.g. large language models)

Logistics Our interview process is split into three phases:

1. Initial Screening: If your application matches our requirements, we invite you to an initial video call to explore the fit. In this 30-45 minutes interview, you will get to know us and the role. The interviewer will be interested in your relevant experiences and skills as well as answer any question on the company and the role itself that you may have.
2. Deep Dive: In this phase, a domain expert from our team will assess your skills and knowledge required for the role by asking you about meaningful experiences or your solutions for specific scenarios in line with the role we are staffing.
3. Final Interview: Finally, we invite you to our office for up to three hours of targeted sessions with our founders, talking about our culture and meeting future co-workers on the ground.
