At Ello, our mission is to maximize the potential of all children. We use advances in AI to build and scale the high-touch, social experiences that characterize the most impactful learning. In essence, we are giving all children access to their own world-class teacher.
Our first product is an AI reading coach that will teach any child to read from start to finish, regardless of resources. With Ello, a child reads out loud from a real book while Ello listens to them, motivates them, helps them, and coaches them. We launched in January and have grown extremely rapidly, generating incredible feedback from parents in the process. We are now preparing for our next phase of expansion.
Ello’s founders have dedicated their careers to pioneering child development at Stanford, Google, and their own successful startups. We were part of Y Combinator’s W20 batch and are backed by leading US and European VCs including Human Capital, Project A Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Homebrew, WndrCo, Reach Capital, and K9 Ventures.

As our Head of Growth, you'll design, build and scale out Ello’s growth engine. You’ll be relentless in your effort to lower our CAC and bring on new users at scale. This role will have three parts:
First, you will plan, launch and evaluate organic marketing channels; these could include content marketing, product-led growth, and partnerships. You will take the incredible user love that Ello generates and use that to drive our growth. You’ll have the support of our design, copywriting and engineering teammates to achieve this.
Second, you will run paid social; you will design, execute and evaluate campaigns, and in doing so accelerate Ello’s extraordinary early growth. You'll control a large growth marketing budget and manage the entire process alongside a creative agency.
Third, you will build out the growth team – bringing on junior channel specialists to run our successful channels while you explore what’s next.
As one of the earliest members of a small, rapidly-growing team, you will take a leading role in developing our go-to-market strategy, as well as influencing all aspects of the business. Success in this role will lead to rapid progression in the company.
