Role Overview

We are looking for a Staff Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in shaping the technical strategy, alignment, and execution across projects focused on deployability of PeerDB. Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and observability. This is a pivotal role to drive scalability, reliability, and operational excellence in PeerDB's core infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Invent

• Contribute to the architectural decisions for infrastructure scalability and reliability.
• Co-create roadmaps that align with the company's vision for technological advancement.
• Continuously drive a culture of engineering and operational excellence.

Own

• Build strong partnerships across engineering and product departments.
• Ensure alignment of roadmaps and deliverables across multiple teams.
• Lead design reviews focusing on infrastructure scalability and reliability.
• Ensure things are 'secure-by-default'
• Engage with stakeholders and customers to understand their requirements and deliver enabling solutions.

Learn

• Understand best practices for utilizing Kubernetes and Terraform to power infrastructure at scale.
• Adapt to customer needs to guide infrastructure design and improvements.

Collaborate

• Share knowledge on designing and operating reliable and scalable systems.
• Learn from your peers and offer mentorship to foster collective growth.

What You Bring to Us

• Deep experience with Kubernetes and familiarity with Terraform.
• Minimum of 6 years of coding experience, preferably in Go, Java, or other related languages.
• Proficiency in writing concurrent code and experience in designing distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong background in cloud, compute, networking, and storage infrastructure.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to drive organizational alignment and contribute to long-term strategic roadmaps.
• Demonstrated skill in making system-level tradeoffs.
