Winston-Salem, NC Remote Position

The UX/UI Creative Director will lead user experience strategy and design for web design and app projects, leverage data to make decisions, and exhibit passion for solving real problems for real people. This role is expected to lead the design vision, strategies, and execution of the design deliverables and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This leader will have a solid knowledge of the latest technologies and design trends and be held responsible for creating, shaping, and improving team processes and deliverables. This role will also collaborate with other agency teams to support and aid Account Management in managing client relationships.

The UX/UI Creative Director will be expected to be a self-starter and an author of creative solutions with an ability to collaborate and humanize complicated ideas through design. We are also looking for someone with experience in all facets of user experience from user research and interviews to high-end prototype builds, as well as experience directing UX/UI design.

The UX/UI Creative Director will work in partnership with designers to ensure that the foundation of each website project is optimized for user experience, and execution of design work aligns with overall business and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive user experience and design strategy across both client projects and the agency as a whole

• Manage UX & UI training & development across the team to support key projects

• Direct creation of user flows, annotated wireframes, and clickable prototypes which enable developers to build websites that embrace great user experience

• Determine the direction of user experience research and usability studies

• Ability to create persona and journey documents

• Review UX/UI designers’ deliverables and provide necessary feedback

• Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure a final product is as user-friendly as possible

• Stay abreast of new and innovative trends in the information architecture discipline

• Support in resourcing conversations and decision making

• Support in the creation and editing of SOWs for new business

• Manage client relationships, when applicable

• Integrate with the overall team on testing and optimization of user experience

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in the UX discipline and leading a UX team

• Strong understanding of design, usability, and research best practices

• Experience flexing between design strategy and planning and design execution

• Experience designing complex, data-intensive applications

• Experience designing for mobile/tablet

• Experience creating a pattern library or design system

• Proficiency in common wireframing tools

• Great communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Significant real-world experience designing real products or custom responsive websites at large scale

• Excellent strategic thinking and problem solving skills

• Passion for continuous learning in usability principles and techniques

• Skilled at rapid prototyping in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, on cocktail napkins and whiteboards

• Strong collaborator

• A strong portfolio of successful projects with distinctive user experiences and research/personas/journeys as well as wireframes

• Experience with responsive design across multiple device types and contexts

• Knowledge of front-end development technologies and a solid understanding of  HTML, CSS
