About the Role

The mission of the Sales Engineering team is to partner with our potential API focused customers and ensure they’re successful developing against Routable. As the go-to, technical point of contact for our prospective customers, you’ll use your solutions and engineering background to dive deep into our customers' processes with an API first mindset. Our sales team is small but growing and you’ll partner with them to help drive revenue and hit our goals this year.


  • Lead the technical sales process and offer guidance on API implementation and integration
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales and leadership
  • Translate user needs and feature requests to Routable’s engineering and product teams
  • Interface and sell to multiple personas and stakeholders within target organizations
  • Learn and map our customers AP/AR processes and educate them on where Routable can bring efficiencies and eliminate manual steps
  • Create technical content to help sales close deals (product demos, example code, API and money flow diagrams/maps)
  • Develop sales enablement material to help keep our sales reps sharp (technical write-ups, demo procedures, product briefs, videos)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to engage technically with a team of talented software engineers
  • You are comfortable implementing integrations with third-party APIs
  • You are comfortable in consultative, solution driven conversations
  • Working experience building, deploying, and scaling modern web applications
  • Capable of building trust quickly, developing and maintaining relationships
  • Passionate about building great products, innovation and solving complex customer problems
  • Strong knowledge of APIs/willingness to learn
  • Technical experience, ideally at a startup
  • Fintech experience is a plus


You must be currently authorized to work in the United States or Canada on a full-time basis (and work North American business hours). We are primarily based in the US but also have a presence internationally (so far, primarily in several South American countries & Canada). If you live in the US, you must be authorized to work in the US.

The Sales Engineer reports directly to the Manager, Sales Engineering, Austen Stone.

Our salary range for this role is $130,000-$160,000 (OTE). This includes a base and a commission component. The exact salary offer will depend on the level of experience, role alignment, internal equity etc. We also offer equity and full benefits packages for FTEs. This only applies to employees residing in the US.
