At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as Amazon, Google, Nubank, Uber, McKinsey & Co., Mercado Libre, Globant, and J.P. Morgan. We are backed by world-class investors such as Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI-focused fund), General Catalyst, Y Combinator, Femsa Ventures, PayU, among others.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can design highly scalable systems and services, integrate our systems into various third-party platforms, promote a culture of technical learning, and push teammates to grow into excellent engineers.

What you’ll work on

• Own the product from ideation to execution, ensuring its success and continuous improvement.
• Spend time coding while also engaging with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and feedback.
• Balance pragmatic solutions with technical excellence to meet user needs effectively.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to align on product goals and priorities.
• Conduct user research, analyze usage data, and keep an eye on competitive products.
• Develop prototypes, run experiments, and iterate quickly to enhance the product.
• Communicate product roadmaps and gather feedback from both users and internal teams.

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on product-centric roles or close collaboration with product teams.
• Full-stack experience, capable of executing complete projects independently.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and the React framework.
• Experience working with product analytics and MarTech tools, from implementation and maintenance to interpretation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a user-first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the product's success.
• Passionate about fintech and the impact of financial solutions on SMBs in Latin America.
• Familiarity with APIs and the ability to create internal tools or products using external APIs.
• Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.

Bonus points

• Data engineering background or experience interpreting large amounts of data to gather insights and make decisions.
• Familiarity with CRM and MarTech tools such as Zoho, Amplitude, MixPanel, Segment, PostHog, or similar.
• Previous experience in fintech and startups, with a hands-on, proactive approach.
