Founded in 2021, Octav is a financial analytics platform dedicated to empowering the Web3 ecosystem with accurate, actionable insights. We help protocols, DAOs, and asset managers make better decisions with clear, accurate financial data by transforming complex blockchain transaction data into analytics. We are a venture-backed startup with $7M in funding to date.

At Octav, You’ll Have Impact

At Octav, you won’t just build ETL pipelines—you’ll play a critical role in shaping how financial analytics are delivered to Web3 organizations. You’ll help architect systems that power the decisions of DAOs, hedge funds, and asset managers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ETL pipelines to transform raw data into clean, structured datasets.
  • Optimize AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) for low latency and high availability.
  • Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to ensure efficient querying, indexing, and performance.
  • Build automated data validation, cleansing, and enrichment routines to ensure data quality.
  • Integrate machine learning models into production pipelines, ensuring accurate and consistent inference.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Software Engineer and product teams to align data systems with project goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be based in Montreal, Canada.
  • Startup readiness—flexibility, initiative, and a strong work ethic. This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to build something impactful.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on ETL workflows and database optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow or Step Functions.
  • Experience with data ingestion frameworks (Apache Kafka) and machine learning integration is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of DeFi concepts and Web3 data to contextualize your work.
