Who are we:

Bree is a financial technology company helping everyday Canadians who are overlooked or underserved by legacy financial institutions. We are building a suite of financial products that is friendlier, more intuitive, more helpful and lower-cost than existing solutions, empowering our customers and improving their financial health. Our flagship offering is an interest-free line of credit that provides short-term liquidity to our customers with no hidden fees.

Founded in 2021, Bree has raised more than $2 million in funding from world-class technology investors including Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, and other top-tier angel investors including executives and founders of Meta (Facebook) and Forge Global. We are fortunate to have a very healthy core business with tremendous runway having grown 30x in the last year to 7 figures of annualized revenue. Bree is headquartered in Vancouver, B.C. and we are excited to continue bringing world-class talent onboard to help shape the next chapter of our growth.

The role:

We are looking for a Chief of Staff who will work closely with the executive team in our dynamic and hyper growth environment. These projects will expose you to all aspects of building a startup from the ground up, including launching new initiatives, hiring, managing customer relationships, and supporting fundraising and investor conversations.

What you’ll do:

  • Work hand-in-hand with the executive team on various initiatives, including strategic and operational planning, product development, and customer acquisition.
  • Act as a sounding board and provide input on key decisions to accelerate our growth strategy and product roadmap.
  • Design new products, optimize performance, and bring a financial lens to resource allocation.
  • Own and manage special projects end-to-end to ensure timely and coordinated delivery.
  • Execute in-depth analyses including revenue cohort level analysis as well as user acquisition metrics (e.g. CAC, LTV, & ROAS).
  • Take on ambiguous, unresolved problems (e.g., how should we structure our customer loyalty program? Or how do we drive greater adoption for new features?), research options, and generate a recommendation for the best path forward.

Why you should join us:

This is a great role for a business leader who is a jack-of-all-trades and is interested in working at an early-stage, high-growth startup. You’ll lead many functions across finance, strategy, operations and product while taking an incredible level of responsibility and ownership.

We are at an extremely exciting stage as a company. We’ve built a product that has proven demand, raised capital from world class investors, and are looking to build the core team to scale our business beyond profitability. You will be on the ground floor of an early-stage company as we hyper-scale from low 7 figures of annualized revenue to 8 figures and beyond over the next year.

Who you are:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, and efficient in managing limited resources.
  • Low ego, extremely intelligent, quick to learn, and willing to roll up your sleeves to tackle tasks - big or small.
  • 3+ years in investment banking, consulting, investing, or business operations at a startup.
  • Proven ability to manage, prioritize, and lead multiple concurrent projects to success, using data to track progress along the way.
  • Action-oriented with an excellent work ethic and initiative.
  • Experience with planning and analytics tools as well as SQL is a plus.
  • Strong written (emails, presentations) and verbal communication skills.
  • [Bonus] Ability to co-locate in Vancouver with the executive team.
