About Artisan

At Artisan, we’re building real AI employees,  not copilots, not assistants, but autonomous teammates.

Our first product, Ava, is an AI BDR. She sources and researches leads, writes in your voice, runs outbound campaigns, manages deliverability infrastructure, and continuously improves her own performance. She doesn’t assist. She owns outcomes.

We’ve raised $35M+ from top investors, went through Y Combinator (W24), and are already at $7M+ ARR with customers like CookUnity, Quora, and SumUp.

We’re now building Ava 2.0,  pushing the frontier of what AI employees can do.

The problems we’re solving are new, complex, and high leverage: how humans define, manage, and collaborate with autonomous systems.

If you want to help shape what software becomes in an AI-native world, this is where you do it.

About the Role

As the second Product Designer at Artisan, you are responsible for outcomes, not just interfaces.

You will define how users interact with AI employees: how they give direction, build trust, understand behavior, and stay in control. This is not traditional SaaS design, it’s designing a new interaction paradigm.

You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and the CEO to identify the right problems, rapidly explore solutions, validate them with customers, and ship experiences that change how teams operate.

Design at Artisan is AI-native and builder-led. Work often starts in an LLM exploring flows, edge cases, and behaviors — before moving into prototypes and production-ready systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product work end to end: define problems, explore solution spaces, validate with users, and ship features that move key metrics.
  • Design AI-native interactions: shape how users communicate with, guide, and oversee AI employees.
  • Start with AI: use LLMs to think through flows, edge cases, and product behavior before committing to UI.
  • Prototype early and often: test ideas quickly, whether in code, lightweight prototypes, or Figma.
  • Stay close to the build: work directly with engineers from idea through launch and iteration.
  • Talk to customers constantly: use real feedback to refine direction and uncover new opportunities.
  • Design for clarity and trust: make complex AI behavior feel intuitive, reliable, and controllable.
  • Contribute to systems: evolve our design system and interaction patterns as the product scales.

Who You Are

  • Product-minded: you care about outcomes, not just aesthetics.
  • High agency: you take ownership, move fast, and don’t wait for perfect direction.
  • AI-native (or eager to be): you use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar to think, design, and iterate.
  • Detail-obsessed: you sweat the edge cases, states, and production realities.
  • Builder: you’re comfortable getting into the weeds, whether in prototypes, systems, or implementation details.
  • Customer-driven: you seek truth from users, not assumptions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: you’re excited to design in a space where patterns don’t yet exist.
  • 3+ years of product design experience, ideally in fast-growing SaaS or AI products.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience designing AI or agent-based workflows
  • Comfort prototyping with code or AI-assisted tools
  • Experience building or scaling design systems
  • Background in high-velocity product environments

How We Work

**Builder mindset
** Everyone owns problems end to end. We value initiative, speed, and decisive action.

**Impact over activity
** We focus on what moves metrics. We cut what doesn’t.

**AI-first
** We use AI not as a feature, but as a core way of building and thinking.

**Customer obsession
** We design from real user problems, not internal assumptions.

**High standards
** We care deeply about craft, in product, design, and communication.

**Low ego, high intensity
** We give direct feedback, move fast, and enjoy building together.
