CareMessage is a healthcare technology nonprofit that powers patient communication for 400+ safety-net healthcare organizations — FQHCs, free clinics, and tribal health centers serving low-income and underserved populations.
You will lead the technical direction of our messaging platform, the system behind every SMS, voice call, and multimedia message we deliver. You will design delivery pipelines, build consent management workflows, architect Twilio integration layers, and handle the sharp edges that come with messaging at scale: retry logic, opt-out compliance (TCPA, A2P 10DLC), delivery optimization across carriers, and AI-driven message categorization.
You'll likely thrive here if you:
- Have 5+ years building and scaling backend systems - Are strong in Ruby on Rails and Javascript with solid SQL chops
