Mason is looking for an intermediate to senior level failure analysis and debug engineer as we grow our operations through all stages of the product life-cycle, this person will bring in industry expertise to drive and lead the company’s failure analysis program working with Engineering, Software, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Operations and Quality teams. Strong Technical and Manufacturing experience in the development/delivery of consumer electronics. This person will play a key part in helping us deliver impactful products with the right balance of customer satisfaction. You will also lead and drive business process improvement efforts as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Failure analysis engineers are the backbone of smooth-running operations. They are responsible for correcting the errors in technology and equipment:

  • Identify failed elements through a hands-on analysis
  • Analyze failures/issues and determine the root cause of the issues
  • Provide feedback with sustainable solutions for corrective actions
  • Conduct routine checks on systems to avoid failures
  • You will be involved with all the systems of the company
  • You will be able to investigate, identify different electrical and electronic failure modes and provide practical solutions to take appropriate corrective actions for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Lead the Product Failure Investigations and Debug
  • Report data, trends, and other required periodic analytics/metrics 
  • Identify the root causes, failure modes, and solutions to support the customers.
  • Present analysis, assumptions and results to the team
  • Provides technical process and mentorship help/support to the operations team
  • Collaborate with integrated teams to plan and execute

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering. 
  • Preferably previous work experience as a test and/or failure analysis engineer with 3-5 years in the EMS [electronic manufacturing services] industry and/or experience in consumer electronics or industrial industry. 
  • Hands of investigating, debugging experience with electronics systems, computers, laptops, and/or mobile devices is preferred. 
  • Preferable experience in 6 Sigma, continuous improvement, process development preferred.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering (failure rates/times) preferred.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Seattle, WA. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Flexible work schedule and one day work from home option.

Salary Range: $100 - $140k

In addition to the base salary, full-time employees are eligible for participation in Mason’s annual discretionary bonus plan and equity plan, subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay based on exemption status. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate including their skills, experience level, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.We know that benefits are also an important piece of your total compensation package.
