Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Founding Engineer with expertise in video and multimodal understanding to join edgetrace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Vision and/or NLP, particularly in benchmarking, fine-tuning and training multi-modal models. As a founding engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our AI-powered video retrieval and analytics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Replicate and improve upon cutting-edge research in video understanding and computer vision.
• Develop, train and fine-tune foundational models for AI video understanding and persistent memory context systems.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO to build out a production-grade API.
• Drive innovation in a growing $25B+ market by exploring new approaches to dataset sourcing, augmentation and synthetic generation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python or C++ programming languages and background in linear algebra.
• Demonstrated experience in computer vision and deep learning, particularly using PyTorch or Jax for development and ONNX, OpenVino, TorchScript or TensorRT for inference optimization and deployment.
• Proven track record of conducting cutting-edge research or implementing innovative solutions in industry.
• Demonstrated ability to "disagree and commit" when necessary, coupled with a commitment to effective communication and documentation.
