Senior Data Scientist

Job Description

Corresponding with a team of engineers to perform data analysis, modeling, and research to understand and interpret data predictions, relationships, and trends

Working with end users to help educate them in SQL, Python, and/or R, preferably with Apache Spark

Create queries, reports, and technical presentations
Identifying patterns in data in complex data sets
Comprehension of the latest technology trends, developments and best practices to define new process improvement opportunities
Ensuring successful completion of work and timeliness of deliverables
Providing status updates to senior members of the team and working with management to identify and prioritize business needs

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics or related field
7 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, data research, and data management
Extensive experience working with data in SQL, Python, and/or R
Experience and understanding of Apache Spark
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Desire to dig in, learn and contribute to new challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

Experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services data
Experience working in Databricks
Experience with AWS
Experience with Github
Experience with migrating SAS code to Python/R/Spark preferred
Knowledge of broad reaching technology concepts including Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)
