Raptor Maps is looking for a dynamic Senior Product Designer to help design and expand products that drive the efficiency and ROI of solar projects around the world. In this role, you will provide input into overall design decisions and complete the tactical design work associated with your projects. You'll be a member of our product team, working together with designers, engineers, and other cross functional stakeholders to build product solutions that address real user needs. 

You are a design thinker with a creative eye who is passionate about user experience. You love translating the wants and needs of customers into high impact product design features. In this role, you will dive right into our fast-paced, multi-faceted product team and play a vital part in scaling our user experience and design system.

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on features that solve our customer pain points
• Collaborate closely with other designers and Product Leadership to define features and contribute to the overall direction of our product
• Drive alignment, set goals, and drive understanding and motivation with your partners and team
• Lead design activities like experience mapping, co-design sessions, and design critiques
• Use and evolve our design system to craft flows, sketches, and high-fidelity prototypes for features
• Use data analytics, consumer insights and research data to inform design decisions
• Partner with engineering to ensure a high-quality implementation of your designs
• Establish and maintain design standards and best practices for our product
• Contribute to UX research experiments and customer discovery calls
• In team discussions and feedback sessions, clearly and succinctly articulate the goals and concepts behind your work
• Solicit feedback from your peers, including other product designers and teammates within your product area
• Mentor other designers as you play an active role in growing Raptor Maps team and culture

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant product design experience
• An online portfolio of shipped products that demonstrates data-influenced decision making and an ability to balance beauty with usability
• An excellent understanding of design system theory and execution; an ability to build usable, accessible, and modular designs that can scale with our platform
• Ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects concurrently
• Proficient experience in creating beautiful high-fidelity mockups and detailed interactive prototypes
• Experience in working alongside Product Managers to develop the strategy and rationale for features
• Experience in applied user research such as usability testing
• Demonstrated ability to influence product decisions and drive customer impact
• Self-motivated and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of UI Accessibility standards
• Must be proficient in Figma
• Must be primarily located in the contiguous US
• Must be authorized to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications

• This is not a UI developer role, however familiarity with modern UI technologies and best practices is a bonus
• Prior ownership of design system management
• Understanding of utility scale or commercial and industrial solar technology
