Duties: Work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Participate in design sessions with fellow programmers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. Review designs and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Develop/Enhance software application modules. Collaborate with fellow developers in design sessions ensuring that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Apply knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines to design across all systems. Utilize multiple modern programming languages Ruby, Java, and Javascript. Work in large, collaborative teams and partner continuously with your many stakeholders.


Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field plus 4 years of experience in application development, or related experience OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field plus 7 years of experience in application development, or related experience.

Skills Required: Web application development experience using Ruby based technologies e.g. Ruby on Rails and Sinatra. Web services development experience using RESTful APIs. Front-end development experience using javascript frameworks such as React and NodeJS. Demonstrated knowedge of software development design patterns such as gateway pattern, broker pattern etc. and their implementation. Experience in implementation and integrations with messaging queues such as RabbitMQ etc. Demonstrated knowledge of several deployment environments and tools including cloud-based solutions such as AWS, CloudFoundry, and Heroku. Experience building microservices with multiple technology platforms such as Ruby, JRuby, and Java. Experience leading and mentoring Engineering teams in building/deploying commercially viable systems. Experience architecting capable systems that are simple relative to those capabilities. Experience programming, caching, clustering and replication strategies. Demonstrated knowledge of Agile methodologies; TDD, CI/CD including deployment to production.
