We’re looking for a talented Furniture/Industrial Designer to join our design team and help us create furniture for the home and office that will delight our customers.
The Furniture/Industrial Designer will work under the guidance of the design manager and interface regularly with team members in Design, Product Management, Marketing and Engineering to understand the consumer, the various product categories, manufacturability, and cost objectives, in order to generate the innovative design solutions that our customers are looking for.
Open to hybrid working arrangements. Interested candidates must plan to work onsite in Archbold, OH at least part of the week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates original, on-trend designs and champions approved design projects from concept through implementation.
Understanding of product categories, including price points, styles, materials, and merchandising and ecommerce requirements (ie. carton dimensions, product size limitations, weight, shipping costs, etc.) and how these affect design.
Understanding of the competitive landscape in the categories the company competes and appropriate adjacent categories to better inform design work and decisions.
Conducts design trend research at trade shows and through competitive benchmarking and generates reports to summarize findings. Includes international travel to trade shows and factories.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
