About the Job
We are looking to hire a Developer Events Manager to coordinate and execute Ambassador Labs developer events, including online events, meetups, tech talks, trade shows, and conferences. You will have experience managing a variety of first-party and third-party sponsored developer events for the purpose of brand awareness, developer education, and customer enablement. Reporting to the Developer Marketing lead, you will bring a creative yet detail-oriented approach to all things events including researching and securing venues, negotiating sponsorship agreements and pricing, setting up virtual event platforms, producing on-site event experiences, and conducting post-event follow up and reporting.

We’re a small but quickly growing startup; you'll wear numerous hats and take on a creative leadership and ownership role for many elements of our developer events strategy.

Some examples of event initiatives you will own or be involved with:

    • Coordinate sponsored event logistics, including working with conference organizers and vendors, as well as managing booth staff scheduling and shipping material to each conference
    • Deliver Ambassador Labs first-party events, including creative design, budget planning; venue, vendor and supplier sourcing, selection and negotiation; event staffing and on-site supervision
    • Create and maintain staffing and speaker schedules for all events
    • Author content for pre- and post-event communications and coordinate delivery with our marketing operations team via channels including emails, social media, and advertising.
    • Procure, manage, and distribute inventory of Ambassador Labs promotional items
    • Represent Ambassador Labs in virtual and in-person events to engage with developers and customers
    • Document and publish event summaries and reports for executive and sales teams

About You
You have broad experience creating and delivering authentic event experiences for highly technical audiences. You’re equally comfortable producing virtual online events as well as in-person events for thousands of users. You pride yourself on bringing a creative energy to event experiences while maintaining a very high level of detail oriented focus. Your personality allows you to work well with a variety of personalities involved with events including technical developers, customers, executives, venue staff, partners, press, and analysts.

Ambassador Labs is a remote-friendly company with “pods” in Boston, Portland and Montreal. Our pods are a way of bridging the gap between being 100% remote and working in an office. Eventually, when it is safe to do so, we will have physical offices in each of these locations for team members to go to on a part-time basis to fuel their creativity through brainstorming and watercooler conversations. This is our way of creating the best of both worlds. For now, everyone is 100% remote. It is worth noting that about 50% of team members are based outside of these pods in cities all over the world so if you would like to be 100% remote, the option is available.
