About this team 

The Kubernetes Engineer role is part of the Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Platform Team. Our goals include improving automating the operations side of software and providing a self-service runtime platform for lululemon product engineering to leverage.

A day in the life 

We are looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to help us build and improve our tooling and developer experience on top of cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, HashiCorp tools Terraform and Vault, Jenkins, Artifactory, Grafana, Prometheus, etc., Lululemon is operating primarily with AWS and Azure. The individual in this role will be collaborating with product managers, solution architects and application engineers to design and engineer solutions that enable application engineer agility to delivery capabilities that drive business value.

The Kubernetes Engineer will provide technical expertise to App Teams to facilitate deployment of containerized applications using Kubernetes, Rancher, and AWS EKS. This individual will play a critical role engineering best practices for managing containers, pods, and K8s networking. Additionally, the cloud engineer will design and engineer technologies and services that enable application developers to increase productivity and have confidence their applications are running on a secure backbone.


  • 5+ years’ experience in software development in at least one of these languages - Java, Go or Python, Bash or Shell scripting.
  • 2 years’ experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes or any major Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions like Rancher, OpenShift or PCF
  • 2 years’ experience with DevSecOps tools and processes to include, but not limited to Git, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, Sysdig, Cilium, Twistlock, Flux, etc.,
  • Design, code, and maintain Kubernetes add-ons, Custom Controllers, CRDs, runtime tooling, with a focus on improving product engineer experience with our Kubernetes-based platform.
  • Ability to operationalize code with proper tracing, metrics, logging, monitoring and alerts.
  • Experience with observability products (such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
  • Build traffic routing, service discovery, secrets, and access control solutions
  • Knowledge on networking, load balancing, DNS with UNIX/Linux system administration
  • Good to have: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)/ Developer (CKAD)/ Security (CKS)
  • Cloud certifications in AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect
