Job description

As a Sr. Art Director at Lipman Hearne, you will be responsible for translating ideas and concepts into effective and engaging solutions for mission-based clients. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about design and eager to collaborate with others to help solve business problems through elegant design. This is an opportunity to do meaningful work across all creative channels—integrated campaigns, websites and landing pages, video, print and digital advertising, brand identity, and print collateral—and collaborate with teammates who share the same passion for great design and creativity. You will partner with the creative director, UX designers, developers, writers, and strategists to bring your creative concepts to life.

A great online portfolio that showcases multiple types of projects and solutions that you directly worked on, with your contributions clearly demonstrated
Previous agency work

We would like to see:

A passion for solving business problems through design and creativity
The ability to drive conceptual ideas and clearly present your point of view to internal teams and to clients utilizing visual storytelling
Solid hands-on user interface and print design experience, from concept through completion
A tireless desire to learn that is driven by curiosity
A collaborative attitude
A strong and refined typographic sensibility
A demonstrated ability to use grid systems and apply design best practices
The ability to manage multiple tasks, be extremely well organized, be mindful of budgets, and hit deadlines
Strong capabilities in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, XD, and Photoshop

It’s also great if you have:

Experience working with nonprofits and/or higher education

You should have:

7+ years of integrated hands-on design across both print and digital media
Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills
Creative thinking that understands the “big idea,” and can drive and support creative strategy across multiple projects in various mediums
The capacity to lead and work on several projects simultaneously
Advanced knowledge of responsive visual design and print design, through staging and proofing respectively
Basic understanding of front-end development—HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress
College degree preferred
This role reports to the executive creative director
