MKG is looking for a talented and versatile Senior Graphic Designer to join our Design team.
As a creative agency specializing in brand action, each project is totally different from the next and with that the graphic scopes encompass a wide range of 2D needs — both digital and physical. The right candidate will demonstrate excitement, experience and flexibility in working across a multitude of project types as well as a curiosity for continuously exploring new approaches and executions.
The Senior Graphic Designer will directly oversee other members of the Graphic Design team. They will also work both independently and collaboratively (with both 2D and 3D designers) on projects at varying capacities — leading projects independently, leading projects collaboratively and supporting others on projects.
This position is remote for the time being. Candidates are expected to live within commuting distance of either office (NY or LA) and be present for collaborative, in-person work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. More detail scan be provided about our new flexible work policy.
_ Development of original identity systems and/or overall graphic art direction for new
campaigns or experiential properties
_ Creation of all print and digital graphics for campaigns or live events. Graphics could include:
social and web assets, printed assets, environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding, branded swag, packaging, digital interfaces, micro-sites, video assets, and more.
_ Lead graphic design on some of the agency's most robust and complex projects.
_ Mentor and manage junior to mid-level Graphic Designers
_ Proposal and concept deck design
_ Generation of internal marketing materials for web, social, presentations, etc.
_ Work directly with vendors and partners to see work through production phase (ex: printing companies, developers)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
_ Have a proven track record of creative execution with 5-8 years experience
_ Have experience managing and mentoring other designers
_ Demonstrate super strong graphic/typography skills and a keen design eye
_ Have experience in both building original brand identities and systems as well as following
existing brand guidelines
_ Have a robust portfolio of compelling original graphic themes and conceptual art direction
based on creative briefs
_ Demonstrate a passion for staying on top/ahead of design trends
_ Have stellar people & communication skills
_ Have strong project management and delegation skills
_ Possess excellent organizational skills
_ Demonstrate an acute attention to detail
_ Be confident and articulate in presenting work (internally and externally)
_ Speak up and offer perspectives that further push the work
_ Be able to multi-task and manage several projects with various deadlines at any given time
_ Have the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet all deadlines
_ Be proactive and have diligent follow-through on every aspect of the job
_ Possess knowledge of print processes, with experience working directly with print vendors
_ Possess knowledge of digital media
_ Have experience working within and managing budgets pertaining to graphic elements
_ Thrive in a collaborative environment
_ Demonstrate skills in the area of illustration (a plus but not a requirement!)
_ Have knowledge or experience in simple animations/motion graphics (a plus but not a
_ Have knowledge or experience in web/UX/UI design (a plus but not a requirement!)
_ Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
_ Degree in Graphic/Communications Design AND/OR have the ability to demonstrate robust
experience working in the field (formal college education/degree not required)
_ Working knowledge of Google Workplace
_ Working knowledge of Google Slides and/or Powerpoint is a plus
_ Knowledge of Wordpress, Invision, Sketch, Webflow, Figma or other digital software/platforms
is a big plus!
_ Knowledge of AfterEffects or other animation/video editing software is a big plus!
