At Two Twelve, we redefine the user experience in cities, hospitals, airports, universities, real estate developments, and other dynamic public places. We are looking for a passionate and collaborative experiential graphic designer to be part of our ambitious team.
Our roots are in information, wayfinding, and signage design, and we take great pride in creating intuitive real-world design systems that help people find their way. We apply these skills beyond just signage: We also create voter guides, transit master plans, sustainability plans, and more. We prioritize projects that serve the public.
Two Twelve is a small 25-person firm, and designers are involved in all phases of the design process. We encourage people with all experience levels to apply.
We are looking for someone who:
-Enjoys working collaboratively with other designers and independently when needed
-Can adapt to shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
-Clearly articulates ideas verbally and visually
-Is curious, positive, and open to constructive feedback
In this role, you will:
-Work with stakeholders at all levels
-Create detailed, holistic strategies and design concepts
-Develop construction intent drawings
-Review fabrication submittals and sign installations
-See your design come to life in the built environment
As a candidate, you have:
-A 4-year college degree (preferably a BFA in graphic design or related design field)
-A strong design sensibility and typographic skills;
-Clear conceptual thinking and the ability to ideate/iterate to solve design problems;
-Attention to detail with outstanding organizational skills;
-Work experience in graphic, industrial design, or architectural design. Exposure to wayfinding strategy development, signage design, digital wayfinding technologies, and design for the built environment is preferred.
-A high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, Filemaker, and Sign Agent is a plus.
If you have most but not all of the qualifications above, apply and tell us what you would bring to Two Twelve. If you have other skills we haven’t listed, we want to hear about those also. We especially encourage people from historically underrepresented groups to apply. Women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ community all hold management and leadership positions at Two Twelve.
With the evolving national and local guidelines for office reopening during the pandemic, all posted positions are currently remote. Once Two Twelve’s office is able to reopen safely, employees are expected to transition to working on-site in New York City.
