The Infrastructure Services Software Development team is looking for a passionate, self-motivated and hard-working engineer to be part of a diverse, fast paced and high-energy team. We are seeking a Data Engineer to build high quality, scalable and resilient distributed systems that power the analytics platform and data pipelines. You will be responsible for developing some of the key components of the platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring together requirements and mentor junior members in the team. You will be contributing to key and innovative technology which supports major Apple applications, with all the scalability and high-availability requirements that entails! In this role, you'll be helping build big data platform using a combination of integration framework and Big Data processing technologies. An understanding of distributed systems and experience in using open source framework to build applications is required.

Skills & requirements

  • Structured thinking with ability to easily break down ambiguous problems and propose impactful solutions
  • Self-starter who can take a project from start to finish with minimal direction
  • Data savvy in understanding existing data sets and applications when designing new, flexible reporting layers
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills with attention to detail
  • Able to write Medium to Complex SQLs
  • Ability to react to re-sets and changes in a dynamic environment
  • Programming/Scripting experience in Python, Shell, Java
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies related to Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics
  • Demonstrate ability to work well independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Experience building reports using tools like Tableau, Microstrategy is preferred
  • Related internship or job experience

Bachelors degree in CS, CE, ECE, EECS, IS, IT and other related fields of study
