Sotheby’s is currently searching for a Senior Product Designer to join our cross-disciplinary digital product team in New York City. We’re looking for someone experienced with agile product design life cycle needs—from requirements gathering, MVP delivery, documentation, prototyping, and subsequent iterations. This is a great opportunity to help shape the next generation of art market and luxury-oriented digital products.
The Senior Product Designer role will be both strategic and tactical. Projects involve working across a range of platforms and deliverables, leveraging both UX and UI skills.
-Leading product teams and providing deliverables through the entire UX/UI design lifecycle (research, design, test and delivery).
-Stakeholder management and facilitation.
-Speaking with users and understanding their needs.
-Presenting work internally and to stakeholders.
-Working with team leadership to advance the practice of UX and Product Design within the company.
-Mentoring other designers through problem solving and constructive feedback.
-5+ years as a Product or UX/UI Designer.
-Portfolio with demonstrated ability to execute product designs with an impact.
-User-centered and usability-focused problem solving skills.
-Familiarity with Figma (our main design tool), Sketch, InVision or similar.
-Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills.
-Strong collaboration skills across multiple internal teams as well as external vendors.
-Experience working on large, complex digital projects. Interest in ecommerce or SAAS is
-Keen attention to detail and author of crisp, clear documentation.
-Proactive and able to work on multiple projects in parallel.
-Knowledge of responsive design and web coding standards (HTML, CSS, JS).
-Experience in working with, contributing to, and documenting design systems is a plus.
-UX writing or copywriting skills is a plus.
