Role Description

AirMap is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Product Management team focused on the dynamic and rapidly evolving airspace management and aerial insights sector.

You'll plan requirements and usher projects through the entire product lifecycle. This includes managing and coordinating stakeholder input, product vision and roadmap, schedules and risks. You're equally at home explaining your analysis and recommendations to executives, as you are discussing the technical trade-off's in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to support customer success through advanced enablement processes that increase mission and task efficiency; provide unique and advantageous insights, and streamline the huge amount of aerial data we currently collect through our aviation activities.

You will be primarily responsible for the development of our Aerial Insights offering (mission, photogrammetry, computer vision, GIS, AI/ML focused) bridging the technical and business worlds as you design and create a compelling product vision and roadmap that meets specific customer needs.

What else you'll do:

  • Be the 'Product Owner' delivering a compelling product vision, strategy and roadmap that flow from customer insights to customer value propositions, innovative features and world-class user experience
  • Make complex trade-off decisions that balance competing technology, customer and commercial priorities
  • Guide a cross-functional team including engineers and designers to deliver awesome products
  • Manage project-planning processes (e.g., timeline, milestone tracking) in a lean environment
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are kept fully informed of project status and progress
  • Serve as the voice of customers to define the design attributes of AirMap products
  • Gather and distil customer insights through analytics tools, A/B testing, surveys and focus groups
  • Define the features, functionality and user experience across mobile and web
  • Identify and gather product requirements based on specific use cases, customer needs and product potential
  • Weave together feature sets and functionality into a consistent and elegant experience across platforms
  • Lead designers to create a compelling and differentiated user experience
  • Test and evaluate key features and user interactions before each release
  • Benchmark other best-in-class products and assess and select third-party technology to improve the user experience
  • Develop meaningful metrics to track product success and identify ongoing opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Skills & requirements

  • 5+ years experience building digital products in a high performing, fast-paced environment.
  • 2+ years experience related
    • UAV flight mission planning
    • Visual data collection
    • Advanced data analysis
    • AI / ML / Computer Vision experience highly valued
  • High level of competency in core areas of product management practice, including:
    • Conducting customer interviews and user testing
    • Running design sprints
    • Feature prioritization and road map planning
    • Resource allocation
    • Performing market assessments
    • Translating business-to-technical requirements, and vice versa
    • Guiding functional interface design and work closely with UX/UI
    • Defining and tracking success metrics
    • Pricing and revenue modeling
