Job description

Studio Pendleton is seeking an experienced photo retouching candidate to join a small and active leadership team. The Senior Photo Retoucher will work on the production and development of artwork in conjunction with large-scale exhibitions as well as daily studio tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a background in fine art or proven digital imaging experience in another industry. Expert technical skills using Adobe Creative Suite are required, including a demonstrated ability to use Photoshop as a production tool. Strong written, organizational, and verbal communication skills are essential. The candidate will see the artwork production process from the creation of files through to inspections of final artworks. The Senior Photo Retoucher will be precise, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and efficient.

Requirements:

Five years of experience in the creation of digital imaging files, including handling the production process from conception to completion.
Expert level fluency in Photoshop.
Fluency in Indesign and Illustrator.
Demonstrated responsibility for the management and organization of files.
Proven ability to develop unique and efficient digital imaging processes and workflows.
Ability to train others in digital imaging and to communicate clearly about expectations and processes.
Experience or interest in fine art printmaking techniques.
Strong time and project management skills.
A professional, proactive, and motivated attitude.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Create printmaking files and other working materials for the artist and outside fabricators using Photoshop in an expert capacity.
Research and develop production processes as they relate to digital imaging and printmaking, while supervising quality control and best practices for third parties.
Create detailed “How-to Guides” and manuals for studio production processes.
Build 3-D models of exhibition spaces with accuracy and precision.
Retouch artwork and exhibition documentation for external and internal use.
Inspect physical artwork and uphold studio quality standards.
Produce artwork condition reports as necessary.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary. Only experienced candidates who meet the listed criteria should apply. Candidates will be asked to take a skills test if qualified.
