THE ROLE:
Entrepreneurial, creative thinker, and business expert, the Senior Strategist investigates clients’ challenges and unlocks new possibilities for their future. Collaborating closely with colleagues across the strategy, design, and program management disciplines, they co-create powerful strategies, experiences, and solutions that help our clients chart a path forward and take action.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO:
+ Own one or more workstreams within a client engagement, collaborating and helping to lead other SYP team members to do the work
+ Research and diagnose the root causes related to the challenge within a client’s organization
+ Frame and define the client’s challenge with original insights
+ Envision possibility for SYP teams and clients—from work plans and learning agendas to futures that don’t yet exist
+ Write compelling narratives for a variety of formats and contexts to help clients communicate their POV, make the case for change, as well as inspire and motivate
+ Generate original ideas related to the client’s business, brand, culture, and stakeholders
+ Challenge and guide the team to think through the implications of each idea through the lens of the broader system and the people within it
+ Collaborate closely with the design team to bring the work to life in a way that engages the client and relevant stakeholders vividly and viscerally, to motivate and/or build capability
+ Collaborate closely with the program management team to shape the work plan, effectively activate the SYP team, and engage the client team and its key stakeholders
+ Collaborate closely with Principals and Partners to shape the direction of the work for both the team and the client
+ Facilitate working sessions with the SYP team and client to create clarity, bring others into new thinking, and move participants forward through a process or their thinking
+ Identify, utilize, and socialize tools and practices that help the team be creative, collaborative, efficient, and effective

DESIRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

+ 5-10 years’ experience at an in-house strategy team, an innovation or transformation consultancy, an agency, or a publisher
+ B.A. degree or equivalent practical experience
+ Range of professional/personal/academic experience also desirable
+ Exceptional writing skills
+ Experience in highly collaborative, team environments
+ Willingness to travel
+ Passionate about getting to root causes
+ Self-starter
