We are Saiga We believe that people spend too much time on countless nuisance tasks and life admin. It does not need to be this way! We are building Saiga for a world where everyone can dedicate their time to the things that really matter. Saiga will radically and fundamentally change how we manage our lives, becoming the focal point of the entire administrative and bureaucratic life of people and their households. We use machine learning and UX magic to turn admin into a joyful and positive experience. The role As Head of Operations, you are responsible for building the infrastructure to enable sustainable, long-term growth at Saiga. You put in place structures that allow the company to grow quickly and ensure that we have the people and processes in place when we need them. At the same time, you ensure that everything is healthy and legal today: we don't want to run out of money and we don't want to go to jail. With the annotation team, you will manage a core component of Saiga. You will be responsible for setting up and running this unit, developing processes and systems that enable us to execute and annotate admin tasks in such a way that we can subsequently improve our machine learning systems with this data. This puts you in charge of one of the key ingredients to Saiga's future success. You will run operations in a productive way, minimising the red tape while helping to embed things such as data protection across the organisation in a positive way. You are great at handling multiple tasks at the same time and have the knowledge and experience to also oversee the financial aspects of our business as part of your role. Your role is very hands-on as well as strategic, so while you are experienced in the latter you must still derive a lot of satisfaction from the former. You will work across the entire organisation, keeping your own team as lean as possible, while still investing enough to build a healthy team and structure. Annotation Team

  • Know how to set up efficient processes and then optimize those further.
  • Confident and effective communicator, both internally and externally.
  • Very strong in data-driven analytics (build the spreadsheet AND make sense of it).
  • Fluent English and strong German to deal with the annotation topic.
We know that box-ticking is dull and that nobody fits all the boxes. Even if not all of this applies to you, we'd love to hear from you! What you'll get at Saiga In addition to a competitive salary and equity plan, following aspects are central to our company culture:
  • Work-life balance: we operate short core-hours to give full flexibility to working parents and night owls alike. Think of us like Basecamp (but a little less patronising).
  • Real responsibility: as an early employee in an ambitious startup we give you a lot of responsibility (and expect you to own it). We are looking for people who want this.
  • Growth: you bring a lot of experience to the table. We won't stop here - expect an incredibly steep learning curve and the growth opportunities that come with that.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity. We consider all applications equally and strongly encourage women and people from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply. We can help with immigration. How to apply To apply just forward your LinkedIn or CV to [email protected] If you want to stand out, please add a short text describing an unusual bit of life admin that you have to deal with or an ingenious solution you have applied to some aspect of your regular admin work. Our hiring process is reasonably streamlined (initial chat, interviews with some the team, case study, final conversation) and designed to give both of us ample time to decide whether we'd be excited to be working with each other, as well as giving you all the information you might need to make an informed decision.
