Partner Home (PH) is Wayfair’s supplier facing platform that enables our 11,000+ supplier-partners to manage and grow their business through Wayfair. We have 50+ teams in Boston and Berlin building applications and user journeys that contribute towards this mission. The Supplier Operations Warehouse team, based in Berlin, works with suppliers to provide cost-efficient, perfect orders at scale to Wayfair’s consumers. The team provides a holistic view on supplier’s inventory availability across their network in real time, clear guidance on necessary actions, and even recommendations to  enable suppliers to capitalize on customer demand to increase their revenues. As a Senior Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the technical and people leadership of all services that are allowing suppliers to manage and self-service their inventory. Your work will impact thousands of suppliers, and in turn, millions of customers. As a result, you will have a tremendous opportunity to impact the growth and development of the business. What You'll Do

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Partner with product on defining roadmaps and ensure the team has a compelling vision, mission, OKRs, and KPIs to measure progress and success
  • Accountable for the systems your team is building including technical design, development, test, monitoring, and deployment.
  • Engage your team to construct the technical roadmap and lead planning, delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Balance calculated risks, trade-offs and consequences in prioritizing and optimizing for sustainable time-to-value and high-quality engineering.
  • Maintain and continuously improve agile delivery and engineering practices.
  • Foster inclusive and collaborative teams and culture.
What You'll Need
  • Experience in building, documenting, and operating products or services of varied scale and complexity in Java.
  • Experience with architectures developed in cloud-based and event-driven environments
  • Experience with Monolith, SOA, and Microservice architectures that served as business and/or technical platforms.
  • Hands-on software development leadership including coding, design, reviews and testing.
  • Capability to collaborate across the wider organization, influence even without direct authority with an inclusive, adaptable, and persuasive communication style
  • Practical experience and ability to coach and advance the team’s practices with pairing/mobbing, TDD, CI/CD.
  • Experience of leading interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Practical experience in hiring and developing engineering teams and culture.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate naturally to influence partners and peers at different levels.
  • Experience as mentor and coach with proven performance management skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
