Your profile: This is a unique opportunity to join an international team in Berlin or Winnipeg.  As a Systems Administrator you will support and maintain the operations of our existing platforms while helping to roll out and administer new and exciting services. Your responsibilities would include:

  • Linux and container-centric capacity and application orchestration
  • Supporting the ongoing operations of existing projects
  • Helping design and deploy new projects and infrastructure
  • Understanding, avoiding, and addressing points-of-failure in complex distributed applications
  • Ensuring availability, security and performance of business critical applications
  • Optimizing costs and provide "best fit" for highly dynamic workloads
The qualities we are looking for:
  • You’re an innovator with strong opinions, quick problem-solving abilities, and a results-oriented attitude
  • You have at least 5 years of dedicated experience in Systems Administration
  • You’re a Cloud Native application admin with experience running workloads on major public cloud providers
  • You believe in solving problems; not treating symptoms
  • You have extensive experience with various scripting languages
  • You have experience managing Infrastructure as Code
  • You're comfortable working both independently and with a team to accelerate project timelines
  • You work with Linux, Containers, and container orchestration platforms daily
  • You’re experienced with version control software (Git)
  • You're deeply familiar with Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, and routing
  • You’re experienced with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and versioned release software (Gitlab / Jenkins)
  • You’re deeply committed to constant improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal english language skills
Bonus points for knowing/using any of the following:
  • You're thrilled by the idea of orchestrating and administering projects on massive scales.
  • You're familiar with infrastructure testing: You're able to quickly understand the root cause of a problem and identify a strategy to prevent reoccurance
  • You're experienced with application middleware and highly distributed applications
  • You have a deep understanding of Linux systems, you know how the kernel works and how to better optimize for highly targeted workloads
  • You're experienced with database platforms covering Relational, Columnar, Timeseries, Document, etc
  • You're experienced with caching strategies and how to implement them
  • You have a deep understanding of vendor independent multi-cloud workload management and disaster recovery
  • You've worked with various application monitoring and performance analysis tools
  • You have advanced programming experience with the latest versions of PHP
  • You're deeply familiar with MVC web application architecture
  • German language skills are a plus
