DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design develop or enhance critical financial applications and help in modernizing the application platform. This will require converting the legacy application built on IBM products, such as IBM Websphere application server, IBM Webshpere MQ, IBM Filenet, IBM Masterbroker, and IBM Datapower, into new application built using Micro Service architecture. Build the new application using Java, Scala, Tomcat, DB2 and open source libraries, such as Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring AOP, Spring Batch, Hystrix, Kafka, Cassandra, Gemfire cache, Hazelcast cache, or any open source cache. Build REST and SOAP based services using libraries, such as Jersey and Spring for REST service and Apache CXF for SOAP based services. Build SOAP services using OSGI framework. Integrate with Oracle Exadata, write and performance tune SQL ,PL/SQL queries for very large volume of data. Maintain upkeep of the existing monolithic application by making feature updates as needed and ensure that the application is in stable state by monitoring the application performance using performance monitoring tools, such as Wily and Dynatrace. Monitor, identify and fix memory leaks using Jprofile, Java Mission Control, and Visual VM. Monitor the health of the database and identify and tune the performance of slow running queries using "database explain plan" and database logs. Since Cybersecurity and Risk are the most critical production tollgate process in JPMC, ensure that the application is meeting all cybersecurity standards required to identify, understand and fix all security gaps that come from static and dynamic scans. In order to improve "time to market" aspect of the business requirement, set a strong CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment) of application process using CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, and write custom Shell scripts needed in application deployment process. Partner with the production support Level 2 team and provide Splunk query, Shell scripts, and DB scripts with which the L2 team can monitor the application for errors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field, plus 2 years of Java/Database application development experience, or related experience; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field, plus 5 years of Java/Database application development experience, or related experience.
Minimum skills required: Experience with Java version 7 or higher and J2EE. Experience with Oracle Exadata. Experience with IBM Mainframe including Message Broker, Datapower, Filenet and Websphere. Experience with OSGI Framework. Performance Tuning SQL on very large datasets. Experience with Spring Batch. Experience configuring, building and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process. Experience with functional programing using Scala. Experience with Financial Data Modeling. Experience with application development using Agile methodology. Experience building design documents.
