Every day, publishers and brands around the world work with WoodWing products to create magazines, newspapers, and other content, online, in-app, and in print. About your role

Come help us develop our Studio Server codebase further, taking us to the next level. Studio Server is the engine behind our advanced workflow- and content editing software, guiding many of the world’s top publishers to produce print- and digital content.

We’re looking for a medior backend developer who will help maintain, build new functionality and implement improvements within the Studio Server. You’ll work with other developers to both support frontend functionality and expand the capabilities of the system. You think about the desired user process and design new or improved functionality or API’s. At WoodWing, developers have the freedom to choose which tools and technologies they want to use to get the work done, respecting the limitations of the existing frameworks and code. You enjoy working with other developers to improve your knowledge.

The core of the current technology stack comprises PHP, SQL, Java, C++, Angular JS and JavaScript. Your main focus will be on PHP and SQL. We use other languages, libraries and tools in our applications – as long as it helps us reach our goals. We expect you to pick up new things quickly and to strengthen the team with your own experience and ideas.

Who you are Minimum requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience as a developer, preferably working on web apps
• Experience with object oriented programming languages, preferably Java or C++
• Experience with PHP
• Experience with test driven development
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Experience with large data models, relational databases and SQL
• You can pick up new programming languages or tools quickly if need be.
• You can work independently within a small, multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with source code repositories, preferable Git/Github
• You can communicate in English, both spoken and written word
• Experience of working within the Agile methodology.
