Ambassador Labs is solving interesting problems for cloud native developers in the Kubernetes space and seeking a full time Designer/Illustrator to join our team! Through vivid illustrations and designs that tell a compelling story while simplifying technical concepts, the Designer/Illustrator will infuse creativity to the brand and our suite of software products.

About the Job

You will be responsible for creative assets including graphics in our products, documentation, decks, as well as content creation for web, social and digital marketing. You will work closely with the engineering and marketing teams to deliver an exceptional brand experience for our users. You will also think about how to innovate across platforms and channels to tell stories with visual acumen in new, exciting, and engaging ways.

• Learn product features from the engineers and express those features in technical, but clear and fun design interactions
• Be a brand ambassador by contributing to brand voice, design systems, and usage guides across all assets
• Create and design web ready graphic materials
• Illustrate technical, but easy-to-consume infographics for multi-channel marketing
• Prepare design assets for web, including optimization, slicing, and delivery
• Stay abreast of new design trends, functionalities, best practices, and help optimize and extend our Figma design system.

About You

• You’ll have at least three years of experience creating content for brands with at least some of that experience at a technology company, perhaps with some agency experience along the way. We create software for developers, so being confident designing for a technical user base is key to your success. Whether you’ve worked at an agency or not, you’ll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment where agility is paramount. You’ll be able to support and execute your creative ideas with your design software prowess (we are big fans of Figma!).
• Ambassador Labs is a remote-friendly company with “pods” in Boston, Portland and Montreal. Our pods are a way of bridging the gap between being 100% remote and working in an office. Eventually, when it is safe to do so, we will have physical offices in each of these locations for team members to go to on a part-time basis to fuel their creativity through brainstorming and watercooler conversations. This is our way of creating the best of both worlds. For now, everyone is 100% remote.
